“In case of emergency, call 911"
Berea Volunteer Fire & Rescue Movie 2014
Our Volunteers
Berea Volunteer Fire & Rescue is made up of citizens of Berea and the surrounding area that dedicate themselves to the service of the community they work and live in. To become a certified firefighter within Kentucky, our members obtain 115 specific hours of training. Additionally, several of our members are internationally certified through the IFSAC program, and several of our members are also EMT's.
Our Equipment
Berea Volunteer Fire & Rescue currently operates five vehicles to perform our fire and rescue duties. We utilize AMKUS brand extrication tools for vehicle extrication. Our trucks carry air bags for lifting vehicles, wheeled transport baskets for retrieving patients in hard to reach areas, such as Berea's Indian Fort Mountain, water rescue equipment, fire suppression equipment, and rope rescue equipment. Additionally, as part of responsibilities we also operate fire suppression equipment for structural firefighting and forest and grass fires.
